Luxurious Dining at the Pinnacle Grill

Today we wanted to try one of the charge-restaurants on the Eurodam and taste the difference. The Pinnacle Grill is a fine restaurant with innovative menus. It is the right place for a romantic dinner in an intimate atmosphere with the exclusive cuisine of America’s Pacific Northwest.

The Pinnacle Grill is located in the center of the Lower Promenade deck and offers a variety of grilled dishes like steak, fish and seafood. The Pinnacle Grill opened for lunch and dinner.

Events at the Pinnacle Grill

During our cruise with the Eurodam, the Pinnacle Grill offered two events. Although we did not have enough time to enjoy these events, we would like to give you an impression of what is offered:

The first event was at the day we stopped in Cadiz and was called the Night of De Librije. This evening was inspired by the “Taste of De Librije”, the restaurant of the three-star Michelin chef Jonnie Boer. This event is only available on the cruise ships MS Rotterdam and the MS Eurodam. The dinner costs USD 49.00 per person and with wine USD 69.00 per person. On the restaurant menu we saw great lobster dishes. Here you can have a look at a sample menu.

The second special event of our trip was “An Evening at Le Cirque” in the Pinnacle Grill. The event took place on the night we stopped in Malaga. Here you can try the dishes offered at Sirio Maccioni ‘s legendary restaurant in New York. The restaurant was also specially decorated and prepared to feel the luxurious atmosphere of the original Le Cirque. Here you can have a look at the menu. The price of the dinner was USD 49.00 per person. Of course you can also order the famous crème brulée.

We tried the dinner at the Pinnacle Grill on a regular evening. The dinner time was between 5:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Dinner costs USD 29.00 per person. But there was also the possibility to use a dinner offer. For example, 2 people for USD 49.00 or you could use a coupon from the ONBOARD value booklet.

The restaurant had several tables at the window or with a view into the atrium of the Eurodam. All tables were very nicely decorated in white and orange. At this restaurant you could enjoy a relaxing and luxurious evening. We were escorted to a romantic table at the window with a bench and an amazing ocean view. Once we were seated, the waiter came up to us with the menu and recommended some fine dishes for dinner. We chose an appetizer, a main course with side dishes and a dessert. Next, we were greeted by our lovely sommelier who recommended a perfect wine to us . Then our entree was served.

All guests were welcomed with a greeting from the chef, which consisted of a piece of salmon wrapped in a nori leaf. This wonderful appetizer was followed by our chosen starters. There were nine different starters to choose from. Among them there were classical dishes like Caesar salad . We selected the Dungeness crab cake and the lobster bisque. Every dish was incredibly tasty . The salmon was moist, the lobster bisque had an intense flavor with a fine cognac note and the crab cakes were fluffy.

Main Course

For the main course we could choose a dish from the menu with corresponding supplement either from the Sea or the Land menu. Either you choose fish/seafood or meat. The specialty of the Pinnacle Grill is steak. You can choose different types of your steaks and different weight classes. We chose a dish from the Sea menu and one from the Land menu. One of our dishes was Halibut on cedar plank with shrimps and the other dish was filet mignon (10 oz.) which came with a sauce of sun-dried tomatoes and garlic butter. We were delighted by the wonderfully arranged plates. Our selected side dishes were grilled asparagus and truffle fries. They were placed in the middle of the table, so that each of us could taste the different side dishes. During the meal, we were also asked if we wanted to get some more of the side dishes. The portions were really big, so that it was not necessary.

Even for dessert there were some wonderful offers. We chose the hot chocolate volcano with Grand Marnier and the alaska beaked Ben & Jerry ice cream.

Both desserts were delicious! In the end we got coffee with a choice of chocolates. We were absolutely happy and totally full. Now we knew why everyone loves the Pinnacle Grill. It was a perfect dinner experience.

After this delicious dinner we had a late night cocktail and went to bed with a full stomache. Our next stop was Malaga, the birth place of Pablo Picasso.
