Palma de Mallorca- last Sea day on NCL Jade and Excursion Tips

Palme auf Mallorca in Spanien

Last Day at sea, the last day on board before we went back to Palma de Mallorca. First I bought the mandatory ship magnet. The Jade magnet for my fridge! Since it was the last day on board and we had green bingo tickets, we decided to go to the Spinnaker Lounge for a free bingo game at 16:00 hours.

Just to to be there and who knows, maybe we did win something! That is a secret! We also drank a Crazy Margarita for $ 4.95. There were always these cocktail deals on board.

Today there was, in addition to the show of the acrobats Jean Claude & Gaby in the theater at 20:45 h, a musical entertainment “Broadway in the atrium” in the atrium. After this great show we enjoyed the Martini Club 2 for 1 Martini offer on Deck 13 in the Star Bar. I chose the martini of the day “Espresso” for $ 7.75. Yummy!

Since we left the ship on our own, we were allowed to pick the luggage tag and time of disembarkation that suited us best. Now that’s freestyle! An alternative would have been the Easy Walk-off program. Easy walk-off means that we could leave the ship between 06:30 and 9:00. The only drawback: the cases we would have to carry ourselves, but there is also no waiting. We did not want to lug around heavy suitcases and decided to go for a luggage tag. So we put the suitcases in front of the door and let the waves lull us gently to sleep.

Unfortunately, our trip was over. We were back on Mallorca. NCL offers a shuttle for $ 10 per person. Alternatively, there is not only the public bus (Line 1) directly across from the Cruise Terminal at the bus stop, but there is also a hop-on-hop-off bus into town.

Those who prefer not to go into Palma and would prefer doing something near the harbor can opt either for a walk along the harbor promenade, admire the giant yachts and enjoy the view from the Cathedral of Palma (then you turnRight on leaving the port area), or have fun in the shopping center of Porto Pi (then you turn left).

Discover Palma:

The Cathedral of Palma is always worth a visit. Take the bur No. 1 to Passeig Mallorca, 18.  Follow the Passeig Mallorca down to the sea, then you turn either left to go down into town (Av. de Jaume III) and then at the Plaça del Rei Joan Carlos I. turn right down the Rambla to Plaça de la Reina (Catedral). There you can walk up the steps to the Cathedral and have a great view over the bay of Palma (all this takes about 1 hour).

Or you take the bus (Line 1) to Placa d’Espanya. There you cross the cobbled square and take the pedestrianized street left to the Placa de L’Olivar and go into the great covered market – Mercat de L’Olivar (Mon-Sat 7:00 to 14:30 h). There is ham, cheese, wine, fruit, olives, vegetables and of course fresh fish and sushi. Yummy!
